Lord Mayor’s Business Awards finalists announced

Lord Mayor Graham Quirk has today announced the finalists for the Lord Mayor’s Business Awards, with GlobalX Legal Solutions amongst 48 finalists recognised in the prestigious awards.

GlobalX was named finalist in the Brisbane Times Award for Business Innovation for its work to introduce electronic conveyancing in Australia, which is set to revolutionise the $6.1 trillion property industry by facilitating transactions online, improving the process for every home buyer, seller and their representative agents.

Celebrating its tenth year this year, Cr Quirk said the calibre and diversity of this year’s nominees were impressive and demonstrated the vibrancy of Brisbane business economy.

“The Lord Mayor’s Business Awards continue to demonstrate why decision-makers worldwide are choosing Brisbane for business, investment, study and conventions.

“Every year these awards have highlighted some of the city’s greatest success stories and this year’s awards will be no different.”

“The finalists are raising the bar when it comes to innovation, collaboration, research and development. They are also representing Brisbane on the world stage.”

GlobalX’s selection as finalist in the Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Business Awards falls on the back of winning the ABA100 for Innovation by the Australian Business Awards last month. “We’re very proud to receive recognition for the work we’re doing to support the introduction of disruptive technology to the legal market – and in particular, of innovation that will dramatically improve one of the most important and often stressful times for Australian home owners,” said GlobalX Chief Executive Officer, Peter Maloney.

Finalists in the Channel 7 Business Person of the Year category include Coronis Managing Director Andrew Coronis, Domino’s Pizza Enterprises CEO Don Meij, and celebrated Australian fashion activewear icon and Lorna Jane – founder and Chief Creative Officer Lorna Jane Clarkson.

The winners will be chosen by independent judging panels for each of the ten categories with the finalists announced at a Gala Dinner at City Hall on Friday 30 October, where they will join past winners.

The Lord Mayor’s Business Awards are staged by Brisbane Marketing and are the only awards in Brisbane to include businesses and individuals across all industries and sectors.
