Emerging law graduate Madeline Depace has taken out the top accolade for Property Law, receiving the GlobalX Real Property Law Award at Queensland University of Technology’s Law Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 9 May 2017.
The award, sponsored by GlobalX, recognises excellence in property law, with Ms Depace achieving the highest grade in the course for 2016.
GlobalX CEO Peter Maloney said Ms Depace’s results demonstrated her commitment and dedication to the profession, something that is highly regarded in the industry.
“We are proud to support the next generation of emerging law professionals, and it’s great to see students so passionate about the industry,” Mr Maloney said.
“I wish to congratulate Madeline on this prestigious accolade and wish her every success in her legal career.”
QUT’s Real Property Law course provides students with an understanding of the legal principles relating to property, in particular the Torrens system of registration of title and the creation and disposition of various estates and interests in real property.
GlobalX’s own Sandra Maurice was recognised at the ceremony for her impressive academic success, receiving the prestigious award for Contract Law.
Sandra, who is a Conveyancing Clerk, has been with GlobalX since 2016 and is currently completing a Bachelor of Law (Honours) and a Bachelor of Business (Majoring in Finance).
“With many of our conveyancing and legal support services clerks studying law, we are proud to support the next cohort of legal professionals as they progress their studies,” Mr Maloney said.

Professor John Humphrey, Executive Dean of the QUT Faculty of Law, congratulated the students on their successes over the past academic year.
“One unit is but one step along your path to graduation, but to have been the top-performing student in a high performing course means that you are doing very well. I am confident that the rest of your studies will be equally successful,” he said.
