Australia’s top businesses have been recognised at the Australian Growth Company Awards, a national awards program that celebrates business excellence across the country’s most diverse industries.

Pepperstone Group took out the top prizes for Growth Company of the Year and Financial Services Growth Company of the Year, while Appen took out the Technology title.

Award sponsor GlobalX CEO Peter Maloney said the awards recognise exceptional growth and performance across the technology, health, life sciences and consumer goods sectors.

“The Australian Growth Company Awards are a great opportunity to celebrate hard-working, driven and innovative Australian companies,” Mr Maloney said.

“These awards empower organisations to work harder, become more efficient and excel in their chosen fields and we are proud to support this great initiative.

“The calibre of winners is a fantastic representation of Australia’s growing mid-market, with all applicants exhibiting the core values present in Growth Company Award winners.”

Australian Growth Company Awards chairman and K&L Gates partner Nick Humphrey congratulated the night’s winners, noting the calibre of entrants.

“On behalf of the award partners I would like to congratulate each of our 2017 winners, in particular Pepperstone Group who took out two awards on the evening, including the major award,” Mr Humphrey said.

“The quality of entries continues to impress me each year and 2017 was no exception. We’re proud to help recognise and celebrate success in Australia’s mid-market.”

Launched in 2012, the awards celebrate companies that demonstrate high rates of growth, innovation, integrity, sustainability and contribution to community.

Mr Humphrey the organisation was proud to get behind an awards program that acknowledged the diverse landscape of Australian business.

“These awards acknowledge high calibre, well-managed and top-performing businesses in Australia and we are proud to support the next generation of startups and emerging businesses,” he said.

“With categories spanning from women in leadership to the top companies to watch, they really do focus on a broad range of skills and talents.”

Winners were announced at a cocktail function at The Ivy, Sydney on Thursday 26 October, which 250 members of the business community attended.

The awards are proudly co-sponsored by GlobalX, K&L Gates, Intralinks, Macquarie Capital, Deloitte, 2020 Exchange and the Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCAL).
