Homes left unoccupied for more than six months in 2017 that are located in 16 inner and middle suburbs in Melbourne, may be hit with a vacant residential land tax.
Property owners must notify the State Revenue Office Victoria via their online portal by 15 January 2018 if their property in one of the affected areas was occupied for six months or more between 1 May and 31 December 2017.
