GlobalX partners with The Legal Forecast to promote legal innovation amongst young professionals

Legal technology expert GlobalX has today announced a new partnership with innovation-focused not-for-profit The Legal Forecast, signaling its intentions to invest in the future of the legal industry.

The Legal Forecast is a think tank run by a team of dedicated early career professionals determined to ‘do law differently’ by encouraging disruptive thinking in the legal sector.

GlobalX CEO Peter Maloney said the partnership reflects GlobalX’s desire to promote industry innovation and support emerging thought leaders.

“As an organisation with roots in the start-up world, we have a long history of supporting big ideas and being at the forefront of new developments in the industry,” Mr Maloney said.

“It’s great to see students and young professionals taking the initiative and getting involved in events and organisations like this.

“Partnering with The Legal Forecast has given us the opportunity to encourage these young legal professionals who are passionate about making changes that will undoubtedly revolutionise the sector.”

Mr Maloney said that during the sponsorship, which is set to run from June 2019 to July 2020, GlobalX will provide support for The Legal Forecast to host exciting opportunities for early-career professionals.

“Some of the events we will be involved in include The Legal Forecast’s annual ‘Disrupting Law’ event, which will be Australia’s first nationwide legal hackathon.

“The events will bring together some of the most talented professionals from a variety of disciplines including law to collaborate and share their skills.

“These hackathons will be held in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra, and everyone at GlobalX is looking forward to being part of this Australia-first event,” Mr Maloney said.

The Legal Forecast’s National Director Milan Gandhi said that the organisation was appreciative of GlobalX’s support.

“Given GlobalX’s decades-long experience in developing legal technology, we are thrilled that they have come on board as a partner,” Mr Gandhi said.

“We are looking forward to welcoming experts from their organisation as judges in both the local and national Disrupting Law events.

“Their valuable expertise in this field will be incredibly beneficial to the students and young professionals that will be attending.

“We are grateful to have judges and mentors involved in the event that are already doing what many of the attendees aspire to do in the future: create technology that shapes the legal sector and changes the way that practitioners work.”
