New electronic conveyancing technology streamlines process for multi-lot developments

Legal and property technology expert GlobalX has unveiled its latest software innovation, which assists law firms and property developers in efficiently managing the sale process of multi-lot developments and large-scale infrastructure projects.

The Matter Centre Projects platform condenses the entire property sale process to a single workflow, making it easier for professionals to process, communicate and keep track of the various elements that are required during large and complex transactions.

The software has been designed to assist in the sale and settlement of large-scale development property transactions, and it already has over 150 off the plan projects on the platform, the largest being a 2,500 development.

GlobalX CEO Peter Maloney said the new technology was developed in response to customer feedback that found industry-wide demand for multi-lot functionality for eContracts, digital signing and electronic settlement.

“We pride ourselves on our agility as an organisation, and an important part of that is listening to our customers and finding solutions to the problems that they face every day,” Mr Maloney said.

“Time and time again, lawyers and property professionals were telling us that there had to be a better way to handle multi-lot transactions and major projects, and that’s what drove our decision to develop this technology.

“The system manages every step of the process from electronic contract creation, to digital signing and electronic financial settlement.

“This one-of-a-kind technology provides the means for a seamless transaction, saving Australian lawyers and property developers time and money.

“We’ve created Matter Centre Projects as a part of our award-winning conveyancing software Matter Centre and are proud to be connecting legal and property development teams with intuitive new-age technology workflow.”

President of the Australasian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA) and K&L Gates Corporate Services Manager Dion Cusack said the launch of Matter Centre Projects signals an exciting step forward in the industry and will improve the efficiency and productivity of law firms across Australia.

“We’ve found that one of the key areas of frustration within the industry is the backwards and forwards process between lawyers and developers that’s necessary in finalising a settlement,” Mr Cusack said.

“Especially in the case of multi-lot transactions, there can be a lot of time and communication required to coordinate everyone’s roles and responsibilities.

“Matter Centre Projects creates a streamlined, transparent experience for all parties involved, and will therefore have a significant impact on the speed at which these transactions can be completed.”

Seamless document and eContract transfer between the lawyer and property developer is made possible via an intuitive portal; the system can also generate reports and status updates for both legal and property professionals.
